I always see cool magic items around (your blog has many of them!) but I have like a block or something to use them hahahJack Tremainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12906068267967864239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-615826467198003068.post-91126955700918327582021-12-06T09:26:51.418+00:002021-12-06T09:26:51.418+00:00Good point. If these were given to a starting character as intended, then I'd have their character somehow know about the item already, presumably hearing about its legend whenever they acquired it. <br /><br />If they just find it in the dungeon then I think you need to at least give them a pretty solid clue. As always, I lean towards giving more information rather than less. Within a minute of looking at it they will remember, even to the smallest detail"<br /><br />I have a problem with magic items: I never know how to convey the information to the players about what does the object do, without resorting to meta-game. I am curious about how do you do it. Do you straight tell players what to the things do? The only thing I can come up with is to have a small note as a "instruction manual" for the object. The other is to have them sink the ship and hope they figure out that the crystal ship was involved somehow.Jack Tremainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12906068267967864239noreply@blogger.com
